Our AI and data principles
Plain English, precisely worded. What our AI does, what it doesn't, and how your data is handled.
Five principles, in plain English
Your data stays yours.
We don't sell it. We don't mine it. We don't use it to train AI models for ourselves or for other customers. Any AI features operate only on the information you've chosen to make available, and only in the ways agreed with you and described in your solution.
You stay in control.
AI supports people; it doesn't replace business judgement. Where AI-generated outputs could materially affect operational, legal or financial decisions, they should be reviewed by an appropriate person before being relied upon.
We explain where AI is used.
We identify which features use AI, what data they process, and whether third-party AI providers are involved. Depending on your solution, some AI features may use carefully selected third-party providers acting as data processors on our behalf, under appropriate contractual safeguards — and, where they do, your data is not used to train models for other customers unless you have expressly agreed otherwise.
We minimise data.
We only process the information needed to deliver the functionality you've agreed, and we apply technical and organisational measures designed to protect it.
We don't promise magic.
AI can accelerate routine work, surface insights, and automate suitable tasks where processes are structured enough to support it. Results depend on the quality of your data, your processes, and how the solution is configured. We describe what AI can do, and we're candid about what it can't.
What we mean by our terms
What we mean by "private AI."
AI features that operate only on data made available for your organisation, and that are not used to improve models for other customers.
On data location.
We'll tell you where your data is stored and processed as part of your solution design, and we'll only transfer data internationally where agreed and supported by appropriate legal safeguards.
On access.
Access is limited to authorised personnel where required to provide, maintain or support your service.
On AI limitations.
AI-generated content may be incomplete or incorrect and should be reviewed before being relied upon for operational, legal or financial decisions.
On ownership of outputs.
Subject to our terms, outputs generated from your business data are yours to use within your organisation.
We'd rather set expectations precisely than impress you with claims we couldn't stand behind. If anything here is unclear for your specific situation, we'll explain exactly how it applies to your solution.
Precision, not promises.
That's the standard we've tried to hold this page to. If anything here is unclear for your specific situation, the snapshot is a good place to start the conversation properly.
